چکیده
This guide docwnenu me use and background of a program wriuen for MSDOS Computers, in QUICKBASIC 4.5, for straighliorward consLNction and pammctrization of sleady-nate trophic modelJ of aquatic ecosystems. The ECOPATH n program is structured around a system of linear equations as suggested by 1J. Polovina and coworkers, and also incorporates routines from lhe computation of variow network flow indices derived from a theory presented by R.E. Ulanowicz.

متن کاملCross-Validation of Trophic Level Estimates from a Mass-Balance Model of Prince William Sound Using 15N/14N Data
Trophic mass-balance models of ecosystems constructed using the Ecopath approach and software include the diet composition of functional groups as model inputs, and trophic level estimates for these same groups as a model outputs. The well-documented 0.34% enrichment of lSN/14N that occurs at each feeding step in food webs can be used to determine trophic level as well. This contribution is the...
متن کاملECOPATH II - a software for balancing steady - state ecosystem models and calculating network characteristics *
The ECOPATH II microcomputer software is presented as an approach for balancing ecosystem models. It includes (i) routines for balancing the flow in a steady-state ecosystem from estimation of a missing parameter for all groups in the system, (ij) routines for estimating network flow indices, and (iii) miscellaneous routines for deriving additional indices such as food selection indices and omn...

Background and Objective: Using animals in science have had major contributions in progression of human knowledge. However, this contribution has been always accompanied with varying degrees of pain and suffering for these sentient creatures, whom they are completely unable to defend their rights. In a humane and ethical point of view, we humans are responsible for protecting them. One of the m...
